Concha De La Cruz

Concha De La Cruz is a youth community research specialist with the SWTCIE Illinois Project and the Illinois Institute for Rehabilitation and Employment Research (IIRER) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. With over 25 years of experience in education, advocacy, and community engagement, Concha is a passionate ally for individuals with diverse abilities and historically marginalized communities.

Her career spans roles as an ABA therapist, individualized education teacher, transition teacher and vocational coordinator, where she has provided essential instruction and support to children and adults across a wide range of needs. Concha’s work is grounded in principles of accommodation, collaboration and social justice, emphasizing inclusive practices and equitable access to quality life opportunities.

Through a hands-on approach, Concha is committed to fostering partnerships among families, schools, and community agencies, ensuring that every individual is empowered to thrive. Concha continues to champion systemic change and promote social equity across educational and vocational landscapes.
