Sangjee Ha
Sangjee Ha is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Special Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research primarily focuses on transition support for students and youths with intellectual and developmental disabilities, specifically on establishing effective work-based learning curricula and employment support in the workplace. She works for the Illinois Pathways to Partnerships Project, starting the work in 2024. She has recently worked on research that investigated the collaboration of professionals in providing pre-employment transition services, transition services in rural communities, and transition support for foster care students with disabilities. Thus, she is currently working on research that explores the support needs in the behaviors of employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Prior to coming to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, she was a special education teacher in secondary schools in Korea, mainly teaching transition education and supporting transition to adulthood. Thus, she worked as a job coach for employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities for several years, providing support on career planning, teaching work behaviors/skills, and communicating with employers and coworkers.
