Teri Lahmon

Teri Lahmon

Teri Lahmon serves as the Visiting Director of Strategic Research Operations for the Illinois Institute for Rehabilitation and Employment Research (IIRER) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Alongside her leadership role, she is a graduate student in the Department of Communication at Illinois, where her research focuses on organizational and health communication.

Her professional background includes over nine years of experience with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During her tenure at the CDC, she coordinated communication strategies for several national public health responses, including Zika and EVALI. She served as a subject matter expert in visual communication focusing on integrating health equity and accessibility into public health imagery. As a member of the Disability Inclusion Workgroup and head of the photography department, she led an initiative to add over 200 images to the CDC’s library that represent individuals across the disability spectrum in an accurate and empowering way.
